So I've found a name for my blog!!! Yay!
I've spent the past few days thinking about how my life has changed in the past few years - taking initiation, travelling to India, going back to university, meeting my husband, getting married, moving away from South Africa - and how it continues to change - moving to a new continent and into a new home, taking up Odissi dancing, going to a new temple, being married!
It has been a journey. A journey that was sometimes tiring, sometimes uplifting, sometimes slow and at other times a little too fast. And then I thought that yes, a journey is all well and good, but a journey that leads nowhere is nothing but a waste of time. And so I hope that everything that I am doing right now, and everything that I wish to do in the future (dance, travel, write, serve), will take me on a journey back to Godhead, back to Krishna's lotus feet. Back home.
And so, I've decided to call this blog, chronicling my journey through life (not always timeously, or well), 'pratyagati', which is Sanskrit for 'journey home'. Perhaps this lifetime is only one part of many more parts of my journey, but it is a journey nonetheless.
Pratyagati...

haribol syamesvari,
nice name for your blog :) i've been a silent reader for a while...keep writing!!
Haribol!
I absolutely enjoyed reading your blog.
I just signed-up for blogspot so I realllly don't know how to contact you privately - But I'm moving to Kitchener and desparately want to keep up my activities with ISKCON(in secret despite disapproving parents - long story). Chances are I saw you at RY because I did meet a few devotees from Kitchener after one of Bhaktimarga Swami's plays.
I'm spending my last few days at the dham and then as of next week will be in K-W. Please get back to me!! I'd love to be in touch with devotees in-town.

We DID meet! Rajasuya prabhu introduced my husband and I to you at Rathayatra. Its so good to hear from you - we wanted to get in touch, but had no way of doing so because we didn't have your contact details...but I guess Krsna made the necessary arrangements (I knew there was a reason for this blog:)
We're hoping to start a weekly sanga at our house every Friday...we'd love it if you came. Kirtan, reading from Srila Prabhupada's books, association and of course, prasadam :)
You can e-mail me at syamesvari@gmail.com for now.
